Javascript, DHTML

2nd January 1996 21:19 | Categories: Skills

I have used Javascript since Netscape invented it in 1996 and I consider myself an expert in it. Although I love Flash I think it is a shame that more designers aren’t aware of Javascript’s possibilities for building good, stylish and usable web interfaces. Perhaps it is a hangover from the pre-dotcom crash “browser wars”, when the technology was unreliable. However I think Google Maps, FaceBook and tools such as Basecamp are perhaps beginning to give a glimpse of what can be done.
