Gradunet Online Career System

13th March 1998 19:55 | Categories: Projects

The Brief

Gradunet started as a partnership between the company by the same name and Omniscience. Its purpose was to put graduates and recruiters in touch with each other. Nowadays it would be called a 'social' website.
My involvment was a module to allow graduates to send in their CVs, and the recruiters to file them.

The Subtext

Omniscience had just won a major contract and couldn't look after this client anymore, so they passed the project on to me.

The Deliverables

A module within a larger online application.

The Solution

The main application was built in WebObjects. I designed and built the module in Perl because that was the only server side technology I knew at the time.

My Involvment

This was pretty much a one man job, I built the back end and designed the interface, such as it was.
