Levi’s EU

The Brief

The main European website for Levi's. It needed to support multiple language, be content managed, and have a flexible enough structure to allow campaign-based content from various markets to fit in.

The Subtext

Blue Martini, who used run Levi's Europe previous CMS, was so desperate not to lose such a high profile client that they offered to customize their system for us for free. So we chose them, and they did a great job.

The Solution

Having chosen the CMS platform, we designed a modular technical architecture based on a container split vertically into two halves. Product based modules and registration forms would be loaded in the top half, and all other types such as games, videos, in the bottom half. Settings and module data would be fed to the container via XML data streams.
As part of the retainer, modules were updated, added or deleted every week.

The Team

9: two producers, two flash developers, three designers, one content creator, and myself.

My Involvment

I worked on the technical architecture at the beginning of the project, and once that was in place I joined the Flash developers in creating modules.

The Outcome

Very successful, the site structure was kept pretty much unchanged for a good five years, until the agency lost the account.
