The Brief

A multilingual, content managed website which would allow the International Maritime Organization to publish minutes of their meetings.

The Subtext

All of the people involved where quite elderly and had poor eyesight, so readability was an issue. The server platform was also an issue, being a Novell HTTP server which had been discontinued two years previously.

The Solution

The main challenge was wading through the masses of material and devised a meaningful Information Architecture. Eventually we came up with a simple enough Perl powered CMS design.

The Team

A junior back end developer, 1 designer, 3 front end developers, and myself.

My Involvment

I led the whole production team, from design to back end implementation.

The Outcome

The site was completed and signed off, but internal politics at the International Maritime Organization meant it was only online briefly before another company was commissioned to reproduce the same work and create a new version.
