Ambient Media

28th July 2005 20:05 | Categories: Project Types

Ambient media (basically meaning screens placed in location where you don’t normally expect them, such as train stations or toilets) tend not to be interactive in nature, although I have seen which use motion sensors and the like.
Besides the showreels de rigueur in media agencies, and a pitch for Emirates for which we built a prototype but didn’t win, I have worked on a single ambient media project so far.

  • The Carling Weather project was quite small, and non interactive. It simply fired off animations depending on weather data from an XML feed.
