DraftFCB is a multinational full-service agency with head offices in New York. It was called FCB when I joined in November 2005, but assumed its current name after a merger in October 2006. I joined after the company won the global Motorola digital account, and I was hired to help establish the digital department for the London office, which leads and co-ordinates the whole of the European market.
As a technical manager my duties included consulting the creative and account teams on the possibilities offered by technology; drafting technical specifications; interviewing and hiring free-lancers; leading front and back end development teams; liaising with QA department to establish accessibility and usability guidelines, and ensuring those are met; managing hardware, software, and back up needs both for the department and clients.
After almost two years I decided to leave the company in the wake of the extensive re-organization triggered by the merger with Draft.
